Time Capsule Series
This ongoing project consisting of looping videos on screens encased in a bed of reclaimed e-waste, wires and discarded computer parts, is an investigation on how time and technology intersect in modern times. Silicone adhesive holds everything together giving the work an appearance of being a living organism, parodying doomsday beliefs of technology taking over humanity.
Motion graphics and video elements in the Capsules reflect the evolving landscape of visual culture, acknowledging the increasing prevalence of video content in our daily lives. Inspired by the "selfie age," videos are created using personal devices and graphic software employed to make animations that mimic what is seen in everyday media consumption, exploring recognizable formats like Instagram squares and short-form videos.
My aim is to contrast the physical realities and consequences of the increasing digital world, while acknowledging its benefits and embracing the novelty and ecstatic feeling of using the newest, most exciting technology.
